This project intends to question the environmental impact of heavy industry, focusing on the production of aggregates, juxtaposing the installations, their environment and the materials they produce.  Locations are both familiar and alien, man-made structures vaguely recognisable, seemingly isolated, but often glimpsed from road, rail or air.

 

Working installations are chosen hinting a sense of abandonment, the cause unknown, like a movie still of a dystopian future where none or little of humanity exists,they are skeletons that survive a civilisation and these structures stand proud, obstinate, defiant and leviathan-like until the rust eventually corrodes.
